Robert Braund
Managing Director

Robert brings extensive leadership experience from senior roles across the utilities and infrastructure sectors, including positions at Aureos, Enerveo, and SSE.

Beginning his career as an electrician, Robert has developed a strong operational foundation, progressing into project management before moving into senior leadership. With over a decade of business leadership experience, he combines hands-on industry knowledge with a strategic, commercially focused mindset.

He is recognised for his ability to lead and motivate teams, drive performance, and deliver sustainable business growth. His areas of expertise include leadership, financial control, commercial strategy, business transformation, and organisational development.

Jayson Powell
Operations Director

Jayson is responsible for the overall management and performance of the business. He plays a key role in driving operational excellence while ensuring GridCore continues to grow sustainably and deliver high-quality infrastructure solutions.

Jayson, who holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng Hons) degree, has built his career through a progression of technical and leadership roles across the electrical infrastructure sector. Prior to his current role, he held senior positions with organisations including Enerveo and SSE Contracting.

His broad experience provides him with a deep understanding of both the technical and commercial aspects of complex infrastructure delivery.

Martin Johnstone
Head of Commercial

Martin Johnstone is a highly experienced commercial leader with a strong track record of delivering financial and operational success across the utilities and construction sectors.

As Head of Commercial, Martin is responsible for driving GridCore’s financial and commercial performance. He ensures that all projects are aligned with both organisational objectives and client expectations, while maintaining a strong emphasis on accuracy, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.

Martin is an Associate of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (ARICS).

Daniel Hazeltine
Head of Projects

Daniel is an accomplished projects professional with extensive experience in delivering complex infrastructure schemes across multiple sectors. As Head of Projects, he is responsible for leading project delivery and oversight, ensuring robust commercial and financial performance, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

He began his career as an electrician before progressing through Project Manager and Senior Project Manager roles within SSE and Enerveo. This hands-on background provides him with a strong technical foundation and a practical understanding of project delivery at all levels.

Jason Mehmet
Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality Manager

Known for his meticulous approach, Jason is an experienced SHEQ Manager and Project Manager with a strong track record in delivering complex infrastructure and construction projects, with a particular focus on health, safety, quality, and operational excellence.

Jason holds industry-recognised qualifications including NEBOSH Health and Safety for Construction, SMSTS, and Level 2 and 3 Electrical Installation. Prior to his current role, he held senior positions at E.ON, Harlaxton Engineering, and Kier Group.
